A Fiery Patriot Speaks

Hari Dev Sharma was a historian from the Punjab who joined the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library in 1966, the year its oral history project began, and stayed for more than thirty years. He built many of its most important collections — the papers of Mahatma Gandhi, Jayaprakash Narayan and C. Rajagopalachari among them — and ran the oral history programme, conducting a great many of the interviews with freedom fighters himself. This is one of those. The archive has been called the Prime Ministers’ Museum and Library since 2023.
